CCLA hosts three evening Legal Advice Desks per month in Chicago and the surrounding area at Catholic Charities locations. Volunteer attorneys meet with clients and discuss client concerns. Attorneys may provide information or legal advice. Spanish-speaking attorneys are especially needed at these events.
CCLA provides training as needed and staff attorneys are present to supervise and support attorneys at Legal Advice Desks.

About the Organization
The mission of Catholic Charities Legal Assistance (CCLA) is to provide access to compassionate and competent legal assistance to the economically disadvantaged in the Chicago area.
Services provided: CCLA provides legal consulations over its Legal Advice Line an many areas of law. Direct representation is also offered in the areas of family law, consumer law, housing law and exungment and sealing of criminal records. Also, it offers community and professional Legal Educational Seminars for referrals to other supportive social services and access to a Pro Bono Network.
Our services are free to low-income clients. Clients who do not qualify for free services may be charged a $25 or $35 fee.
