If you think your doctor has committed malpractice, or made a mistake, you should first stop seeing this doctor. Otherwise you could be injured more.
Second, find a new doctor for a second opinion. This will help if you later decide to sue.
Third, file a complaint with the American Medical Association. When a complaint is filed against a doctor, there will be an investigation. This helps get the word out about a doctor to other people. But be careful. You can ruin a doctor’s reputation, and can cause them to lose their license, by making a false claim.
Lastly, consult with a lawyer as soon as possible. The lawyer can help you file a lawsuit to get money from the doctor or hospital to pay for your bills, pain, and suffering. You only have two years from the date you found out about the injury to file a lawsuit. The lawyer can also explain other options you have available.
